Boiler Grants Liverpool

Q. Why am I being offered a free boiler or boiler repair?

If you meet the criteria, you can receive a boiler grant, courtesy of the ECO agreement between government and the big six energy suppliers.

The ECO scheme is designed to give a helping hand to those on lower incomes by reducing the cost of heating their home.

Dependent upon the age and state of your boiler, you could be eligible for either a new A-grade boiler, or a repair of your current boiler, complete with a 1-2yr warranty.

Government have invested £875m on the ECO scheme, to help those on low incomes reduce their energy bills, remove high-fuel use boilers, and in turn reduce energy used overall.

Q. How do I know if I am eligible?

The ECO scheme is available for those within the ?Affordable Warmth? group. People in this group must be in receipt of the eligible benefits and earn less that £15,860.

It is only necessary for one member of the household to be eligible to qualify for the grant.

Q. What type of benefits do I need to be in receipt of to qualify?

State benefits include Child Tax Credits, Income-Related Employment Support Allowance, Income-Based JSA, Income Support, State Pension Credit, Working Tax Credits.

The benefits listed above have individual conditions, so to check if you?re eligible, please complete the form on our website.

Q. I do not own my house – Can I still be eligible?

Yes – If you rent from a private landlord, and you have their permission for the work, you are eligible for the scheme.

ECO scheme reaches beyond houses – those in dwellings and mobile homes can also be eligible.

Unfortunately, if you rent from a housing association or council you will not be eligible. Those in halls of residence, military barracks, commercial sites or residential homes are not covered under the ECO scheme.

Q. I am eligible – What could I be entitled to?

Depending upon the state of repair of your current boiler system you could be entitled to:

  • Replacement boiler
  • New boiler system – only if a gas heating system has not previously been installed
  • Boiler repair
  • Insulation – e.g. Cavity, wall, loft.

Your assessment will determine which type of support you are entitled to. Assessment will be based upon your current heating system.

Q. What’s the catch?

There isn’t one! If you?re eligible as part of the ‘Affordable Warmth’ group, and you have a broken down boiler system, or no system at all, you’re eligible for assistance.

What service you’ll receive is determined by our surveyor visiting your property.

Q. How Do I Apply?

Once you’ve check on our website if you’re eligible or not, you can apply online for an assessment.

Next, you’ll be visited by a certified surveyor who will assess your heating system and double-check your eligibility.

If successful, your next visitor will be a reputable, certified gas installer to replace, repair or install your boiler.

Q. I don’t meet the criteria for the ECO scheme – Is there any help for me?

Yes – we could also offer you the opportunity to pay for your boiler from £20 pcm. This includes a brand new energy saving boiler, fitted and upto 10 years on the warranty.
